Attendance: Miss 3 classes lose 1 grade point, miss 4 you will not pass

Active participation in class labs, mini assignments, field trips (see below) and punctuality 10%

Timely Completion of Assignments: 65%:

FINAL: Timely Completion of Final Project for Presentation in an Exhibition 25%

NOTE: Missed or late assignments will result in the loss of associated percentage

Assignments

Assignment 1: Artist Report

Pick an artist or group working in the field of transdisciplinary art and prepare an audio-visual presentation for the class. Web sites, videos, and power point presentations are appropriate mediums for the presentation.

Some Starting Points

Assignment 2: Static Gestures - Apparent Motion in Sculpture

Build a 3-d sculptural object that explores motion without actuation.

Assignment 3: Activated Motion- Directed Motion in Sculpture

Build a 3-d sculptural object that explores motion with actuation from the observer of the work.

Assignment 4: Project Proposal & Presentation

Turn in a Project Proposal for your final project using the guidelines provided (Download Guidelines). Present materials (drawings, images and/or components/models/prototypes) detailing your final project to the class using Power Point or Keynote for the presentation to the class.

Assignment 5: Final Project
& Critique

Presentation of your final project in a gallery setting as part of the Media Arts final show.
